I'm doing the tutorial, anyway I'm at the part where you buy the trace detector thingie, so I have the cracker and trace scanner, and it says to get vesrion 2, which I do, but the next button doesn't appear! Can someone just explain to me how to hack the test mission?

I would love to help. However, I do not understand the question. What next button is he talking about? the "Next Version" button in the Software Upgrades section? If so, he needs to first select the program he wishes to buy, then hit the "Next Version" button near the bottom of the screen until he arrives at the version he wants. But I am not even sure that is his question...
Nevermind, I meant I bought the next version but the tutorial wouldn't continue, eh it's fine, I figured out how to do it myself...

Yeah, the tutorial is not all that useful. Reading other guides is your best bet.
