Is it a bug in the game if, after tracing a hack to a personal computer, I send the name of the computer's owner to my client, and they tell me that the transfer was to him, but the hacker is someone else?
I was rather confused that they talk about transfers when the hack itself went through two mainframes and hit an internal services machine.
Any similiar experiences?

i think this is an unanticipated but non-bug thing, you can't trace through a personal computer, so you can't complete the mission it is nothing more that that, but it has never happened to me

I had the same issue, and couldn't come up with a solution. Abandon the mission, do a bank hack to up your rating to where it was. Sorry, outta luck, I guess.

Have you tired using Log Undeleter on the logs on the computers the hacker bounced through? I had the same issue, but tried running Log Undeleter on the logs in the computers the person had bounced through; lo and behold, the hacker had used the LogDeleter that scrambles IP numbers; trace sucessful.

I never do the hacker tracing missions. I think that they're boring. Why do them when you could be destroying computer systems, hacking LAN's, and stealing people's hard earned cash?

If you have to gravedig, please at least ask some sort of relevant and related question, like you did in the Uplink bank topic.

thats what happened to me, so like Cicero, i ran log undeleter on it and another ip popped up. From this i found out that the hacker uses a log deleter v3, which changes your ip for someone elses.
