I recently accepted the very well paid "trace a hacker who recently broke into our system" job. The thing is, i don't know exacly what i'll need for the job, and what to look for and do. I have a great computer, lots of memory, lots of cpu's, hud connection annalys, all the things things that go w/ it in .5 verson, decypher, voice annalyser, password cracker, and trace tracker. oh ya, i also have explosives set to a motion detector. what else will i need, and how do i do it? any information would be helpful. thanxs

Start with the system that was hacked. You'll need to hack the admin account. Check the logs for the IP that connected when the said the hack occurred. Use the log undeleter on the log. Connect to the IP that the hacker bounced from. Hack the admin account. Undelete the log, and so on...

One more tip: You have to complete the missions pretty quickly after they first appear on the BBS, otherwise the hackers will go back and cover their tracks much better.

A certain secret mission allows you to complete the "Trace a hacker" missions without actually doing any work. It's a bit tedious, though.
Although, if you really wanted to complete that mission, you could send them the names of everyone in the world.
Good point. I hadn't thought of that. It would be a bit tedious though. Maybe you could try matching the agent ranking with the crime? Start with the best agents and work your way down.
I usually find it's easier to go in alphabetical order, since I usually have to use most of the list before getting it correct anyway.
Anyway, it's how I do all of my "Trace a hacker" missions. Yeah, I'm a bit unscrupulous, but what else am I going to do with the list while I'm waiting? (Besides causing mass arrests.)
