How do you destroy someones mainframe? My employer told me to use virus attacks and /or system resets i don't know how to do either. -I also don't know how to be careful about it since I don't know how- Please help me out. I could also use a nice list of console commands. I don't know where to get them from. Thank you!

Here are the important console commands.
Help ? display a list of commands cd <directory> - opens a directory cd .. ? closes the current directory Delete ? delete the whole contents of the currently open directory Shutdown ? Shuts down the system. Disconnect ? disconnects from the system Exit ? exits the console and returns to the menu Run <program> - runs the program you entered. (only works from the usr directory)
To destroy a database, login to the target database and enter the following commands into the console:
cd usr delete cd sys delete cd log delete shutdown
After that, log in to InterNIC (or whatever your first bounce point is) and delete all the logs except the latest "Logged Onto..." log. Use LogDeleter 4.0; that way, the deleted logs cannot be recovered.

The log deletion is pointless. The company has already traced past their own system. Skipping log deletion saves about 5 seconds. But 5 seconds can be the difference between getting caught and slipping away. Have fun!

yeah, only usr and sys are important to delete. and if you are really in a hurry to get out of there, you can do just sys and usually get paid a half or two thirds, even though you wiped out no data.

My gateway 0wnz. I have more than enough time to delete the logs. I also like to be thorough in my desecration of servers.
Its faster to delete the logs, then copy in Revelation (have it ready), then run Revelation.
Yes, but that means you're in the storyline. You might not have time to do a hack if you're in the story. I usually avoid it and do it the old fashioned way.
what about just going to console and typing "delete" wouldnt that just delete everything and work fine...??? Also, i got one mainframe down, but I cant get any more down... heres what I d, tell me wut i do wrong:
normal bounce through InternIC through company owned ip, I play voice authenticity thingy, decrypt curved encryper thing, hack pass, proxy-firewall-monitor bypass(highest versions) goto console do normal there, type shutdown, disconnect completly, go to InterNic, delete the recent time ones... is it because at InternIc Im not supposed to delete the most recent loggoed on to??? or is it something else??? plz help

No it doesn't. You must open the user directory, delete it, then the system directory, and delete that too. It will say "unrecognized text" if you try that.
Always delete the logs, but leave your connection log. You leave a log when you disconnect, and I have a feeling that a disconnection without a connection looks pretty suspicious.
As for the mainframe, you're doing fine. Just do this:
cd usr delete cd sys delete shutdown
and bingo! You've destroyed the mainframe. If you're doing a mission for it, wait for it to say in the news that the system was destroyed before you reply. Have fun.
Of course, you should be able to just go:
delete .
(dos command for wipe entire HD) I'm not a PC user, but our family PC got a virus a while ago, so I had to backup some things from DOS once the virus hit. I just got a brand new eMac G4!!!!
