I now have FIVE missions sitting in my email corner. They are:
1. Copy source code (x2) I put the files on the server they gave me, but they say the files aren't there. I decrypted them, but the compression is still there. (By the way, any way to decompress files?) 2. Destroy all files on a server They're all destroyed, but my "employer" claims they "haven't heard any report that they're gone." I double-checked that they weren't there. 3. Trace an agent I can't find the "connection from blah routed to blah" on the server I traced from the originally hacked server. 4. Help a colleague make a donation I made the transfer and deleted the logs, but again, the computer says I didn't to it.

1. If they're compressed, I don't think they are the right files (I might be wrong though). How sure are you you have the right ones? 2. You need to wait for the news story. If there isn't a news story, they won't know you did it. 3. Just as you clear your own tracks, so do other hackers. You need to accept and complete these missions quickly after they first show up to ensure their success. Log un-deleter might help, but time is your best tool here. 4. Don't delete the logs. They need to see the logs in order to know you transfered the cash. Just delete any logs that would point to your involvement (like at InterNIC), but don't cover up the crime. 5. What's the fifth mission?

I put ALL of the files on the target server on the new one. (I have that really big memory machine.) They still say they aren't there.
And how do you tell if a file is source code or not?

Usually it's a bunch of files with similar names at the bottom of the server you steal from.
Still no joy. Again, I transferred every single file from the target to the file server, and they claim that "they can't find any of the files specified."

Well, did the others work at least?
If you can't get a mission to work after a long time, just abort it. As long as you don't abort too much, there shouldn't be any real penalty.
Yes, you should abort them. But you can get it back up with a nice bank hack! If you've gotten this far, you should be able to hack a bank.

Are you sure I should abort FIVE missions, all from different companies? Doesn't Uplink get mad if you abort too much? I remember back when I was unregistered they sent me an email about it (or is my memory bad?).
Now I've got 3 "copy the files" missions and one "frame the guy" missions. I aborted the tracing one and completed the others I didn't get that are on my list at the top.
Don't worry. The worst Uplink ever does is lower your rating, which is countered by a bank hack.
Well, make ABSOLUTELY sure that you check the bottom of the right target; the scroll bars look deceiving. Keep clicking the down arrow; the right-looking files that have the same-level encryption should show.
