Perhaps this has been addressed within the other topics, but I didn't see anything...apologies if it has been tackled...anyway, how long is the game, approximately? Or is it pretty open ended? High degree of replayability? I've played a little bit, and I'm quite honestly hooked...I want to purchase...just want to know how likely I am to get bored with it...AWESOME, so far, though!
My opinion only: One of the storyline mission strings essentially ends the game. Otherwise the game is open-ended. Replayability? I, too, was hooked at first; I spent a lot of time playing out the missions and advancing my character's rank and status. At this point, though (about one month later), I find the challenges disappearing and my interest falling. While "Uplink" is excellently conceived and well-designed for the most part, I would question whether or not it is worth the $$ to register the game, or the time to play it. Perhaps future versions or new mission plugins will add more extended replayability. Hope this helps.

One thing you can do to extend the playability is to participate in "challenges."
There's one going on at (url="http://"http://madhouse.biz/downlink/")Downlink(/url) right now. It's too late to sign up for that one, but, there are some archived ones at (url="http://"http://www.modlink.net/uhlchallenges.php")Modlink - UHL(/url).
You can also have fun with the game by hacking the various game files.
And then there's also (url="http://"http://themod.crazie.co.uk/")Uplink - the Mod(/url), which changes the appearance of the game, and does major twiddles with the missions. I haven't gotten very far with this one yet, but it seems promising. (Though I prefer the original Uplink color scheme)

I liked it a lot at first, but eventually got bored with it. To me it just feels like EV without any action. Everything happens where you can't see it. All you do is watch your software work or copy files.
I would have to say it wasn't very replayable to me. When my computer went down in the game, I just didn't feel like starting again.
