Problems with Uplink and Mac OSX...

I downloaded the demo version from Ambrosia twice, and from downloads.com twice. It installs, I can make connections and do stuff if I'm on a server, but I can not run programs, like my password hack program. Even on the test mission, I can not get the software to work. I know it isn't me as I downloaded and tried it on a PC and it works and I was able to play. If I go to try my password hack problem for instance, it will fill in Admin for the user, but not do anything else. The trace program bar will change colors, but then do nothing else.

It's like it freezes, but I can still do limited stuff. As soon as I try to run software, nothing happens. It just sits there. Like if I try to run the password breaker, even a trace isn't started. The tutorial also will not run. It will pull up the first screen, but will not advance when you click the "Next" button.

I'd rather get it for Mac, but at this point, I'm about to give up. Any help would be appreciated.

I have OSX on a G3 400Mhz Powerbook.

Uplink seems to be unreliable on G3s around that speed (I know from experience). Try quitting any other open applications and windows, restart your computer, and download the update (if you haven't already). I'm sorry, that's about all I can think of.
Hope it helps. 🙂

I've found it to be unreliable at maximum resolution. At first I could not run Uplink like that. It would crash when trying to do anything (like hack). Maybe a change in settings would help you.

Oh. That's Interesting. I
wonder if I can hack it?
