Your Most Likely Need to go to the interNRC And Delete LOGS so you cant be found by a passive trace
i delete the logs i leave by deleting the files and accessing the server, then i go to the console delete sys, shut down, and get logged off by the system because i deleted it pretty much, so why then after getting the money for the mission am i getting caught and dissavowed a day later? are there steps im missing?
I believe the news of the destruction of the system must appear in the Uplink news service.

If you're only deleting the logs at the target server then there's your problem. Cutting the chain at that point won't help, because their trace has already gone past it when you've done the job. Instead, try deleting the logs at your first bounce (InterNIC works well) with a v4 log deleter.

You'll need to log onto the system as an administrator. For an Internal Services machine you don't need any special software (beyond what you've used for simpler missions. For a central mainframe, you'll need the voice analyser.
(If you need help with that, just ask)
Once you're in you need to go to the console and type:
cd usr delete cd log delete cd sys delete shutdown
Then you wait around while the computer shuts down and tries to reboot. When it can't, disconnect, and go delete your logs as per usual. Then you wait until the news shows up on the Uplink newsserver, send off your reply, and get paid.
You can also use revelation to do this, if you have it.

by deleting usr, log and sys, that deletes all the file on the system? im a moron, also; you use interNIC as your first bouce then after deleting the system, you go back to interNIC and hack in there and delete the logs? i think i got it, thanks.
