Deleting logs

Dear all,

Every time I hack into a company to steal a document, say, my password and code are revoked on that system... Is this normal?

I'm having trouble with figuring out which computer in my string of connections to modify logs on; any suggestions?

Do I have to modify my logs while I am making the hack attempt? Or can I take a job on, finish it, and then disconnect and connect to one of the other computers in my chain and erase logs? The first problem still applies: I lose my welcome on that system...

I guess I'm confused by the game :frown: The help section of Uplink internal services doesn't much...

Well, first off, it sounds like you'll be needing this link (url="http://"http://www.macgamer.net/games/uplink/index.html")http://www.macgamer....link/index.html(/url)

The first bounce you make should be to Internic and, that should also be the only place that you need to delete logs from. Always use a level 4 deleter and, don't delete your connection log. I think that you always lose Admin Access if the trace is over 50%. i.e. if you have 100 seconds and you disconnect at 40 seconds then you lose access. Good luck!

Is there a specific reason you don't delete the connection log??? I have always deleted everything - just to be safe - and I don't think that it caused me any problems... that I know of, at least...

Yes. If you look at a long series of logs, you'll see that for every connection log there is a "connection closed" log.

When you log off the system, that one will appear even if you deleted the connection log. And it looks suspicious if there is a close-connection without a connection.

This probably doesn't matter in the early missions, but as you start doing more powerful hacks (destroying lives and computers), it could get you in trouble.

hey,

i normally bounce it through the test server and just hack back in and erase from there, with alot of bounces you get like 200 seconds to work, plenty of time to delete logs.
