OK, I'm having a few problems with Uplink... I haven't decided whether to register it yet or not, since the $25 price is a bit steep. I wanted to sort out these problems before I bought the game, anyway.
First, I'm having a problem with the IRC app. I finally got around to buying it, but every time I try to connect it just sits there after "Checking your ident" or whatever, and I can never see anybody in the channel, and it doesn't seem like I'm actually connected. Could having a firewall on (on my real computer, of course) have any effect on that? (Incidentally, I tried connecting via a real IRC client, and I found out for some reason I was banned on all the Ambrosia IRC channels -- perhaps this was because of some of my problems with Uplink, since I was trying to connect multiple times, and maybe I accidentally spammed by doing this or something. Is an IRC ban indefinite, or does it expire after a while? Maybe someone could help me with that more real problem, too.)
Secondly, I accepted this mission to destroy some data on a computer mainframe, and then completing it gets you access to the first Revelation mission. Well, the problem is that the original mission to destroy some data doesn't go away, so you can keep replying saying that you did the work, get another 10000 or so credits, and then you get another copy of revelation. Is there any way to get rid of that mission so it stops bugging me? I mean, it IS a nice moneymaker ;), but it's kind of annoying.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

All bans last 3 hours if done by zambezi, which it probably was. Other then that, I have no idea.
That probably is a bug regarding #2, at least it doesn't sound like it should be happening. I suggest upgrading to the latest version (1.3.2) and if that doesn't fix it, then perhaps post in the bug report forum: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/postdisplay.cgi?forum=Forum69&topic;=000430")http://www.AmbrosiaS...69&topic=000430(/url)
