Music Disabling and Mods

There are some MOD files available that address some of the shortcomings listed above:

Sound vs Music. On Ambrosia's web site, there is a blank MUSIC.DAT file you can download. Using that you can still get the game sounds (the rapid beeping as the feds close in) without the music.

Fonts. On the website (url="http://"http://modlink.net")http://modlink.net(/url) there is font.dat file that switches the font to Comic Sans which works much better than the default one. Even though the website it set up for the PC version, the font.dat file still works with the Mac version. (That's probably why the anti-aliasing text wasn't implemented).
Look. There are lots of Theme MODs available to change the look & feel of the game. Ambrosia's site has two good ones: Deus Ex and Flames. Modlink.net has a bunch more, one of which I like is UVLINK. Just put the MOD file into the UPLINK/DATA folder and change your theme preferences.

There is no need for #1. The version update of Uplink 1.3.2 fixes that problem.

It will be publicly released today. But is available on the add-ons section now.

Modlink is well-known on this board. It's a great site, though some of the anti-Mac comments hit home hard. Regardless, it's nice to see some outgoing users.
