Is it just my rig, or does Uplink have problems with multiple monitors? It switched my secondary screen to something low (640x480?) and ran on that, but I couldn't click on the 'About' or 'Register' buttons on the first screen after connection. The only thing I could do was quit - which failed to return my desktop to its previous settings cleanly.
My setup: G4/933, 1.25Gb RAM, Mac OS X 10.2.6. GF4MX 64Mb driving 17" Studio Display (LCD) as primary screen via ADV, 17" CRT as secondary via VGA.
These were in the demo too, and are still there when registered:
- Switching off music also switches of interface sounds, which is no good because the music is too loud and you can't change the volume. Need interface sounds, especially the trace tracker beep. - Mac mouse cursor still appears when software mouse is selected. - Massive slowdown when you have collected a lot of links in your links menu, doesn't affect anything when this screen is not open. (eMac G4 700 384Mb 10.2.4 Combo geforce 2MX) - Game options has no options, so why pretend? - ARC will not pay for missions after a while (not plot missions, just plain missions where the employer happens to be ARC. They just ignore replys and then I have to abandon. Yes, I did finish the mission.)

I don't know if it's a bug or not, but whenever I get promoted a rank, all the lesser skilled jobs seem to 95% never come back. So, if I don't have the software for a job and thats all that is availible, I have to wait another 7 days or so to get one. Are you going to fix this in the next patch?

I'm not quite sure I understand what you're saying. You are saying that when your rank goes up, the easier jobs are less frequently offered to you? I don't think this is a bug, I think that it is simply how everything works. In the military when you get a higher rank you aren't doing the same thing you did at a lower rank, usually.
As for the next patch, this thread is only to bring bugs to our attention so that they can be looked at by the Beta Team. I can't guarantee what will be fixed in the next patch or not. One thing that we will not be fixing for sure is any bugs that exist in the windows version of the game as this is very strictly a straight port.

I have exactly the same problem, but a very different setup. I vote this bug gets fixed quickly. G4 400 w/ PCI Radeon Mac Edition and an AGP Rage 128.

Faux-IRC window not working/not accessible? If there is any 'connect' button, it's off the bottom of the screen (12.1" ibook 500). I click the smiley face, and although the connection information is all visible, the chat box at the right of the screen has no bottom visible, nor a text box/buttons...

Do they pay to begin with and then stop? After how many missions? Is it a certain type of mission?
If possible can you send me your user file with a mission that you have not yet aborted from ARC that will not complete? This was an issue that crept up in very early betas but was thought to have been fixed.

Can you get a screenshot and a little bit of a better description of the problem. I know that the Uplink IRC Client works as I have seen people on IRC using it, however I don't use it myself. Maybe someone who has used it more can help tell if this is a bug or not.
When you use the 640x480 resolution, Uplink IRC goes off of the screen.
I have the same multiple display problem as mentioned above, but with:
G4 867, 384MB, 10.2.6, GF2MX w/ ASD 15" LCD (ADC).

Okay, this display problem has been brought to the attention of the developer and they are looking into it. We don't need it to be posted anymore unless anyone has some insight as to what is causing it.
When you register uplink, any users you had as a "demo user" won't be able to open an account at the Stock Market. They are still treated as demo users.
Well, this is a show-stopper for me.
It seems that Uplink by default will run full-screen, and for some reason my cursor disappears when it does this.
Because of this I cannot easily click on anything and since the first time you run it you make an account, I cannot get to the option because I cannot create an account.
Is there a key-combo I can hold at startup to choose those sorts of options, a la Blizzard games?
Maybe someone can send me an unregistered prefs file and users files that have one account already created? My e-mail is varun@mehtasw.com

Also, when trying to connect to the ambrosia server with the irc thing in uplink, it quits the application.

Strange, my problems aren't posted here yet...
-It seems that in some of the plain "destroy data files" or "copy data file" missions, the file required to be stolen or deleted don't exist, but when I reply, they say that the mission hasn't been completed yet. -One of the "sales" missions require you to completely wipe out the target computer's data. I did this and it said that my mission hasn't been acknowledged or "we haven't heard of your damage yet." I'm not sure if this is a bug or I haven't done something right.
Question: How do you connect in the IRC?

Re: Bad ARC missions
There were two ARC missions that I couldn't get paid for - one was a "Destroy Server" and I don't remember what the other was. I got caught a bit later on, so I can't really send you a good user file, but I'll bear it in mind if I see it again. In both cases, it was after the Faith status option comes up, and I hadn't taken any special missions.
Uuuh, I don't know if this is a bug or me being stupid, but when I run the tutorial lesson 2 I cannot get past buying the TracerV2. The tutorial will simply freeze up with no "Next" button and I don't have a clue what to do.
