Okay I very rarely post anywhere but ENV Web Board except Uplink is really annoying me. Whenever I change resolution the game quits and refuses to open again until I trash the settings or whatever its called in the users folder. And when I shut it down and manage to get back into it my user may as well not exist. It keeps asking me to create a new user even though I already have one. This is severely annoying but other than that, Great Game!

Now, that that's out of the way: you should make a backup copy of your player and put it in a safe place before you trash anything; after you trash whatever you trash, put the backup copy back in the players folder and you should be fine.

Please try waiting a little longer. I can't really help you, because it worked fine for me. But you didn't even wait one hour between your posts! Most people aren't up this late/early (it's almost 5 AM here and I have yet to go to bed). I'm not most people. I'm sure you'll have a response sometime tomorrow. Now, then, this sounds like a Hardware or Software conflict since it works for me and other people on this board. That means that there's probably something odd with your system. An extension, a hack or old (OldWorld) hardware. Please post the hardware/software configuration (PCI cards, Graphics Card, OS, Extensions, other hacks) and that may help isolate the problem.

The settings include the fact that you already have a user created. If you delete the settings, it thinks you need to create a new user.

Is there any way someone could release the format of this file, so people could repair it if they screw up their settings, or at least be able to change the one part specifying if a user is created.
As an afterthought, if you create a new one (with a different name) your old one should be there as soon as you exit to the menu, since people have no trouble loading PC ones. One more thing: it would be nice not to HAVE to creat a new user every time you start for the first time, albeit after a crash or on a new computer where you want to copy an old user from elsewhere.

I am extremely frusturated with uplink! I have been trying to pay off the same fine fo rabout an hour now, but even though the bank said that the transfer was completed succsessfully. The people who sent me the fine still claim that They have not recived payment! :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:!!!!!!!!

Paying fines is tricky. It matters which bank you send the money from. I'm not sure if the correct one is:
Always your Uplink bank account
Whichever bank it was that you overdrew from
Whichever bank it is you have set as your default
I need to pay more attention to this. Every time it happens I end up paying the darn fine several times until I get it right.

I know that it's any bank you want to pay it from. I check the info and I'm sure it's correct. I even hacked the bank of the person I'm paying the fine to and saw that they were getting the money.
I always have to pay from my Uplink account or it does not work.
