When does the story start? I'm sometime near April 10th-14th and have not recieved an email from anyone except for the missions I accept through Uplink ISS. I am registered, but my player was started when I wasn't (however, the top man didn't die until I was; I bought it even before hitting the cutoff).
I looked at the Intorversion boards for the PC version; all I found was someone thinking it was late March.
------------------ In the beginning, all was NULL, or perhaps (void*). -- (url="http://"http://vegastrike.sourceforge.net/")Vega Strike(/url) introduction One, Two, Three, (url="http://"http://source.bungie.org/")Pfh(/url)(url="http://"http://resurrection.bungie.org/")or(/url) (url="http://"http://www.idevgames.com/")iDevGames(/url)... do (url="http://"http://www.idevgames.com/content/contest.php?id=6")uDevGames(/url)?

I may just not be looking at that correctly, but I can't even begin to understand what you said there.
I'm not sure when the story starts, but just be patient. What I can say is that it starts with you recieving an email from an agent who has been compromised and killed by the ARC.

What are you supposed to do after that? take doen the server?

I asked this on one of the threads, but I can't remember which, so I'll ask it here (it is appropriate for this thread)...do you HAVE to do the storyline, i.e-if I dont, will my computer be infected by the virus eventually? And if I do have to do it, when I finish it, do I get to continue the game?

Wow, that was very cryptic; here's what I ment: I am registered, but my player was started when I wasn't registered (however, the top man didn't die until I was registered; I bought it even before hitting the cutoff).
That better?

He's the one killed (by ARC) under mysterious circumstances from a sleeping pill overdose, right?

Yes, something like that. You should recieve an email from him addressed to all Uplink Agents telling you not to trust the ARC. However, if you wish to continue the storyline, you actually have to accept a mission for the ARC. It looks like a routine mission and is found in the Mission Computer. When you complete it, ARC sends you an email. For some reason, they don't pay you for completing the mission, so you have to abort it. Oh yes, and I strongly recommend waiting for a few days, or at least a few hours once you get the ARC email with the attached file. This will allow you the option of "fighting" the ARC, which you will most likely feel compelled to do. Plus, you get a hefty 15000 Credits if you wait.
Hope that didn't have too many spoilers.

1. I don't believe so. It offers rewards, however, as in the PoG/EV series. 2. I don't know what virus you are referring to, mostly because I'm using the demo and I'm not that far into the storyline, partly due to a bug. 3. Most likely. It would suck if not.

A few weeks after the news report saying he is dead, you will recieve the e-mail.
Also, there is no need to accept any mission from ARC. Just try to connect to their server using the username and password the dead hacker sent you. If you fast forward a few hours, ARC will send you a mission.

April 14th is the date the storyline generally starts.

At this point, do I wait for ARC to offer me a mission or do I have to accept something from the Uplink ISS mission list?
Thanks! (And once I get started I don't want any of these kids of spoilers :p)

Well I don't want to give away too much, but you should be getting an email from ARC shortly, Revelation has indeed been swiped from the ARC system, but maybe you could track it down somehow.
Originally posted by sinclair44: **Yep: I got the email. I hacked into ARC with the password given, but it didn't work so I used the cracker for Admin access. But the Revelation files had already been deleted from the server.:p
As far as I know, you do not need to accept any missions from the Uplink ISS.
Hmmm... I am almost in august and I havent done ANY revelation nor faith missions so i just mind my own bussiness and destroy stuff. but, i really want to do some missions against revelation. how can i start a mission?

If it isnt too late some of the missions will be in the regular mission list, but with a difficulty of 10 (unable to auto accept, must contact, that is how you know which ones they are)
all the above have been saying different answers. I just want to know if you can wait and then start storyline or have to do it fairly soon after the dead agent email?
also.. at the end do you get to free roam (not ending) like at the begging.
sorry if i confused you but im curious
1- You must do it soon or another agent will do it. 2- ARC storyline, at the end you are guarenteed to be disavowed, Arumnor you can continue.
Hey, how many time do you have from when you recieve the message from the dead agent?
I think about a day or so, not sure though.
You have a day to hack ARC and track Relevation down?
I usually get that message when I don't have the credits or tech to hack into ARC...
