My guess would be he's refering to the agent email. If so, there are several things one can do.

It's the Agent thing that says he's dead. Doesn't it lead up into a big storyling type thing or something? I'm unregistered, (hopfully not for long) but I still think that that would be cruel to have that as the only really good part of the demo.
By the way, I got a mission to trace a recent balance transfer, and robbed the bank, deleting all of the files. I got 700000c and I bought all of the stuff I want and need, and still have around 400000c left. heheheheh Me does really evil cackle

Well I am lost on the mission you are talking about but I think, and hoping, that it is on the one I have questions about. I have to install a revelation tracer into ARC's system, I bypassed the proxy, firewall, and monitor, then the mission says "Copy into place. Then drop into the console, there you can run the program." I have no idea what I am supposed to do in the console area, I havent a clue what the console is for nor do I know how to use it or get out. It is the first time I have had to mess with the console, so , can anybody help me out on what to do? I havent registered, I have almost all software, I have maxed out ghz, and memory space, Im invincible except I have never messed with "consoles" nor the voice software thing. Somebody please walk me through what to do for this mission. (Including MOD's)
To get voice acess--
Log on to the public acess server for that company (get link from internic) Add the admins number to your list Call him up with voice analyzer running After it records, connect to the server WITHOUT quitting voice analyzer (as soon as you do it forgets his voice) Run voice analyzer in the place you have to.
To place revelation tracer--
Go into the File Server, use your file copier, copy the tracer from your HD, and put it on to the server (if there isnt enough room, delete something) Go to the console, type (in this order)
cd usr run revelationtracer --------- That should do it. Wait for it to say it is hidden and you will be done. Delete logs and respond.

I think this was one of the major differences between this and other shareware games. In most games, you get ataste of the gameplay AND plot. I can see how this might be a mistake, but I believe that the gameplay is good enough so that we don't need to see the plot to get hooked. Wishes he was a registered player.

So, there isn't anything else you can do to that in the Unregistered Version? That sucks.
It's the same way with the PC version, the mission stops at the same point. The only difference is that you can't use the same app after you register. After the demo version expires and you register with Introversion, you have to download the game again, the full version. You just can't register to turn the demo into the full version. I miss having a Mac. :frown:

Hi, i've just got myself a registered version of Uplink! Applause
I've been trying to figure out how to get onto the storyline, any storyline... I've got Potempkin's email, and i've hacked my merry way into the ARC central mainframe and i've looked at the file server section, which shows nothing special, and the Logs, which show me a couple of events involving several files that bear the same revelation name. Then i undeleted those logs and noted down the ips. There was one log which i couldn't touch with Log_Undeleter i.e. nothing happened when i applied the program to it.
Well, when i came back again later, after destroying a couple unlucky company's central mainframes, i looked back at the Logs to see if anything had changed. nothing had changed, all those Logs which had been involved with revelation were still around =(
So... i'm going to be needing some hints/help here before i decide to do something silly, like crash UplinkCorp or something... =p

Make sure you've got that extra 4 Gb's of space. Otherwise, you won't get Revelation and will have to start all over. This happened to me once and I spent hours trying to find it in some otherway. ARC and Arunmor's central mainframe, LAN and file server. I also tried to figure out which agent ended up working for Arunmor so that I could download Revelation from him, but you can't log on to personal computers.
