Hi...am new to this cool and fascinating game Uplink. Sent in my reg 10 minutes after playing demo!
My question is when I try to change info on someone in the Social Security Database, I get in, but it doesn't let me change anything. I have the Connection Analyser, and the Proxy Bypass software. The game help says to run the Bypass, which I do. But it doesn't seem to work. I open the proxy bypass and place it on the "lock" then it says to click the button to start bypass. I do, and nothing happens. Still can't change anything. Am I missing something?
Maybe I need an upgraded version of proxy bypass? Using 1.0 now.
I been looking all over boards for an answer, inside the game help too. Can't seem to figure it out.
Any help will be appreciated....
Thanks, ....Bob (Diggit)

The bypass runs.. does the green light turn on? if it does, the proxy is off. Which should happen, as I think the GCD's proxy is v.1

Green light? No green light. Bottom right corner of the bypass icon is red. Stays red. Other buttons do nothing, bottom left is the letter "P" top left is pause, and of course the "X" close button. I see no change at all after opening bypass software, and clicking on each button.
It's getting to be frustrating, I want to move along, but this....
What could I be doing wrong? Seems straight forward enough.
Thank you, ....Bob
Step-by-step: 1. Click the Connection Analysis icon. Wait for the Connection Analysis to figure out which lock is which. 2. Run the Proxy Bypass program. 3. While the little Proxy Bypass window is following your mouse, LEFT click the lock in the Connection Analysis labeled "Proxy". 4. The window should slide over the lock, and the circle should turn green.
If that worked, read no further. Otherwise: You probably have too low a version of Proxy Bypass. What version is it? What are you trying to hack? (I know this doesn't apply to your case, this is just for the casual searcher.)
Anyway, if the version is fine, it's probably a bug. Report it.

Wow, it worked! Thanks a lot for your help!
