Right at the beginning, the game asks you to pick a site for your gateway ...
I've tried a couple of them, but usually I pick Australia. I like having it off in the corner, less likely to get lost amid a pile of other points on the map.
But I was curious if anyone had other preferences.

I pick the one closest to where I live. Namely, New York.
I wonder... is this at all connected with which irc server you join? The options are rather selective, and it would make sense for regional irc channels. Then again, if Introversion owns the irc network (do they?), there is probably just one server. Anyone know?

The first time I picked Australia, it was because it was as far as possible from where I actually am. After that, I got to liking it for being off in a corner. The map gets so darn cluttered.

I did notice that most of the gateway sites are in English Speaking countries. (Though some might not count the US as one of those <g> )
