Finally, the solution to that silly InterNIC vs Uplink Test Machine debate. InterNARC uses a simple drag-and-drop interface to remove the InterNIC admin password from a user- you just click admin and you're in.

Same deal as with RedshirtX- it's Beta version 1, should work fine, but no guarantees; email me to let me know what you think.

Nice.
How are you making those icons for RedshirtX and InterNARC? Looks kinda like a program I saw called Aquatint, but not quite...

Yep, I draw them in Photoshop 7 and aquify them in Aquatint.
Good eye
Thanks. Very handy, especially since my last password for Admin access was so unedifying, "deermeat". Congratulations on reaching the triple digits Adriac.

Nice app. I've been a little annoyed with having to type in the InterNIC pass for a while now (you can simply click on most other password screens to enter a password once you know it, but not this one...), so I think I'll keep and use it.
I just thought I'd suggest some things that might make it better:
Preferrably, the outputted file should have it's creator/type codes set to 'Uplk'/'USER', not ''/'' as it is now. That way the outputted file will have the right finder icon. (If you want me to, I could post some source code I have for doing this.)
How about making the app itself drag-and-drop? I don't know how to do this, or if you do, but I'd like that.

Well, those are both good suggestions, and are actually things I've considered It's just the icon didn't seem so important (I wanted to give them a custom icon with the icon in the bottom corner, like it works in the Dock, but Cocoa's custom icon support seems to be broken  ). Right now I just need to call (output writeToFile:atomically:), and it doesn't really matter.
I have no idea how to make the application draggable(droppable?), but I'm researching it

For type/creator codes, you need to use Carbon. Cocoa has no such methods.
With drag-and-drop, you need to set the same Info.plist keys that you do for a document-based application. You can then set your controller as the "Document Class" and it can handle it as if it were an actual document-based app. (Note: this should work but I've never actually tested it. It's how doc-based apps work, though.)
Aah, that didn't occur to me... Setting it up so there's a delegate for document events.
I migh try it, some time.

deermeat! Ewwwwww. Well, at least it's easy to spell. I had one that was really awkward and I often had to retype it.
(Now I have Penelope. I like it.)

Thanks, it's working great here!

Here's another idea I just thought up.
How about an option to set the InterNIC password to whatever you like?
KidGlove, if that crack removes the pass, why you would want to set it to your own pass?

Some people might think that the password should not be removed entirely, just changed to something a bit simpler. Or they might just want to have the same InterNIC password in all their user files, if they have more than one... It's just an idea.

Than it's ok, just confused because the crack removes te pass!
