I scanned all the topic titles that I could, all the way back to early May, and I was wondering--is there a way to make plug-ins that involve, you know, mission sequences? I saw the stuff for the skins, gateways, and sounds, but nothing for plot-related things. Would this be possible in any way?

I read on the introversion forums that a soon to be released Dev CD will allow for storyline creation.

That is very true. A Mac version is ambiguous, but possible. Don't be so negative.

There is next to no chance that the Dev CD will ever come out for Mac. The PC version is the complete source code for the PC version, meaning that if something similiar for the mac were to be releases, the registration coded would be obvious and could be removed. Now, somehting that might be possible is that some enterprising (probably bored) person at Contraband and ASW could port the PC patches.
Another interesting point:
When the Dev CD comes out for PC, couldn't someone just port the code to Mac by himself? I would take a lot of time, but it might happen.
The Dev CD could be for the IV distro only... And they could set up like a $5 upgrade from the shareware...

Yes, but the point is, after the Dev CD comes out, no one will have to buy the full game anymore, since the source code will find its way onto the webm and/or you could just get the Dev CD and compile it yourself.
Thats why they waited htis long to release the PC Dev CD. If they released it for the IV version, nobody would get the ASW one anymore. Also, it would be near impossible to implement a registration check in the code that can't be removed. Some sort of shared library maybe.
Maybe we'll get lucky eventually, but until then, the answer is no.

Hey, a year ago the Dev CD was nothing more than the fevered dreams of fools and madmen. Why does everyone have to be so pessimistic?
It's called realism. This is a new product on the mac market. It will not happen for at least a while.
