POSSIBLE SPOILER
I was reading membrain1's recent topic "anything work hacking" and he said/asked "hacked the uplink server and downloaded that special thing on the top of the files list. (Not to give away spoilers). Is there anything that I can do with it other than just read it?" Kidglove II said that it would lead to a new storyline mission. So, I went to Uplink's internal server and downloaded the first file, an agent list. But, I don't know if it's what I should have been looking for because I have no idea how to read a file, like Membrain 1 suggested. Was it a different Uplink server? I too missed the ARC mission and am looking for something to do. Any help would be greatly appeciated. I know that I could have just continued along the original thread, but I wanted to get help on this ASAP. Sorry if I shouldn't have.

To get the special mission (yes, there is only one), you need to also download the encrypted files.

okay. Thanks, I thought SlaVitiCkus said there were 10 but, I guess I must have misunderstood what they were talking about.

Well, all missions you get badges for are what is called "special" missions, which means you can't get a user with all mission badges. There are 10 storyline missions and 2 non-storyline missions. This is one of them, to get the other you have to have watched the movie "Wargames".

I've gotten it without downloading the .dat files. However, I need to hack back in and get them when I do get the mission. Saves space on the gateway for database missions.

10 storyline missions that you get badges (what are they acctually called?) from, and 2 "extra" ones. I like the news story for when you do "Wargames" (And I felt bad when I saw the news story after I sent the agent list :frown:)

I downloaded all of the encrypted Agent files but, no news.
When people say 10 story line missions and 2 non-story line missions, which story line are they referring to? In Nova people referred to missions within the context of a story line thread. So I'm confused, are there 10 different threads i.e. ARC story line, Anrunmor story line? Or are there 10 different missions each resulting in a different badge. Also, can you only earn one badge per user? Thanks, any clarification would be much appreciated. Also, I have seen Wargames.
Each of the 2 storylines has 5 missions. For each of those missions you complete, you get a badge.
And wait for an offer from someone, if you do it, it will make news.
