It seems that disabling the music also disables all sound in the game. Is this intentional, or is it a bug?
It would be HIGHLY desirable to be able to turn off the music but leave the sound effects enabled. (A volume control for the sound effects would be a nice plus as well -- they're incredibly quiet.)

Well 1st question I think it is a bug and second if you don't want music go to (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/uplink/addons.html")http://www.ambrosias...ink/addons.html(/url) and download the music file.

That's how it is for the PC, so therefore it's how it works on the mac.

Thanks for that; I hadn't looked at the add-ons just yet.
Unfortunately, using the empty music file seems to give me the same net effect as turning off music: A completely silent game. I'm not sure what the story is there.
The PC version actually has a working option to disable the music only, but it seems that was not ported well. The file in the addons doesn't seem to work for most people, sorry.

It is not a bug, it is a limitation of the game engine. This may be fixed in future releases.

This is infact a bug with the port (see my previous post). The original game engine (PC/Linux) works correctly.

Not many people seem to agree with this. Myself, not having played the PC version, dont know how it was on the PC, but I assume it was fixed in one of the patches?
