So I put a little time into this game, and got one of the missions that involved finding out where some guy sent a load of cash.
Up to this point I had an Intermediate status, was ranked 25 or 26. I had about $50,000. I hadn't done any hardware upgrades or gateway upgrades. The only software I had was:
File Copier File Deleter Password cracker Trace Tracker 2.0 Log Deleter 4.0 Proxy Disable 5.0
No Hud upgrade, no bypass software. Yet I was easily able to steal over 1 million and not get caught. Now I'm Uber-skilled, ranked at #3, almost every mission in the world is open to me, and I bought the top gateway, filled it with 8 of the 200Ghz processors, got the fastest modem, bought HUD upgrade, connection analyser, all three bypasses v.5., some other software I can't quite remember right now, and I still have about 800,000 left.
I just basically skipped right over the "slowly build up my system". I went straight from the starter system to the uber-system. This just doesn't seem right. I realise that I could just start again and not hack the bank, but it is still quite fun this way.

how did you steal all the money from the account without getting caught? I tried to do the same thing and deleted logs with v. 4 but I was still caught in a passive trace.

Make sure you not only delete the log at your first hop, but make sure to view the statement at both bank accounts, and usr log deleter to delete the transfer to line on the account you steal from, and the transfer from line on you own account.
The really funny thing is that taking the credits from those accounts seems almost morally justifiable. After all, it clearly doesn't belong to them, since you found out about it helping with an internal corperate pcorruption probe. What I wonder about is why those companies that give you the missions don't repossess the money you located. Do they not care that there's a couple million out there that presumably belongs to them?
