I was really keen on chatting as I played Uplink, so I got the in-game IRC client (HUD_IRC client)... first of all, it's extremely expensive to be such a no-purpose program, and secondly, it doesn't work.
There's no "connect" button! Where is it?

it pretty much crashed my machine when I tried to use it ... it printed the first two lines of text on the console and then just sat there. Had to hard reset my machine.
Does this client connect one to REAL people or is it like the 'chat sessions' that you can get in when you're contacting an employer about an assignment?

The chat is with real people from IRC. The IRC client connects to irc.introversion.net or something, and then you are able to talk to people and ask for help in-game. Very handy, if you ask me.
