I've been trying modifier-key clicks to try and deselect a map node after clicking on it.
I know the Cancel button will clear the connection path, but I'm looking to just remove the last node (i.e., accidentally clicking on Matrix Solutions Public server instead of Internal).
My map is as clean as I want it (all the unwanted public, internal, etc. servers are not displayed). I just want the map to work like in Escape Velocity, pretty much.

Alas, there is no way to deselect nodes. Would that there was. . .

This would be an agreeably nice feature...

sigh that's what I was afraid of.
i realize that Uplink is just a port... but frankly, i'm rather disapointed by it. don't get me wrong, it's a fun game... but it lacks the polish i'm used to in games with the name Ambrosia stamped on them. Makes it just "fun" and not "mindblowingly, orgasmically cool", like other Ambrosia titles. i'll probably still buy it, but that doesn't reduce its suck factor.
No node deselection. No sound effects without soundtrack. Clicks sometimes aren't recognized. I have to delete text from a filter instead of clicking something like "Show All". Funky bugs like (1) multiple bank accounts (2) purchases totalling less than my total listed balance but greater than my Uplink balance (3) receiving a fine from Uplink because I tried to "hack into their system".
at least i think that last one was a bug.
(edited because i forgot something while ranting)
oh, and my favorite bug, mouse clicks aren't recived after the program is running in a window and I switch to something else for a while. button hovers still work, but no clicky.
I should check if that's in the bug list... ------------------

People... go yell at Introversion... Ambrosia is forced to keep all of these problems in there, as it has to be the same as the PC version.... Bugs and all.
If you really want something changed. Go complain to IV.
I also think it is highly unlikely that any more patches will be released by IV doe to the soon to be released PC developers disk.
Awe -crap-. it has to be identical to the PC version?
Well, I'd go yell at Introversion... if I thought they'd care about a Mac user complaining to them. wry grin
I guess I'll just have to suck it up, as they say. At least I'll be keeping the game company.
