There once was a E-zine about Avara called U.V.A.R.A. What happened to it?

It died from lack of interest and fan base.

Somewhat like this forum. Give it up tripps, you can't save the Avara webboard, no one can. Damn shame though. I like Avara, and I would have read an e-zine had I saw it.

It took a bit of searching, but I finally discovered the context for that comment over in B&B.; Speaking of which, I hadn't been in there in a while... is it my imagination, or has Banter and Brawl gotten more insane in the last eight months? /me thinks so.
I must say that for the most part the Avara board really doesn't require much life, since Avara has such a good chat system built in. Still, i do often check this board, so if a there's enough momentum going I can help push things along.
Ya know, it's only 2:50am PST. You'd think there'd be more people at my server... ehehe.
------------------ Pinky, Are you pondering what I am pondering? I think so, Brain, but if they called them sad meals, kids wouldn't buy them.
Did John Wayne listen when they told him he'd die from smoking? No! So I'll never quit trying. I would play, myself, if the connexion wasn't so bad.
BnB has gotten more insane. It's like the Wild Wild West.
If this board is so unnecessary, why wouldn't they just get rid of it? If you look at the traffic, you could get rid of at least two ares boards and one Ferazel board, combine Ambrosia Banter with Help on the Way since they essentially do the same thing, and get rid of the Slithereens FAQ. Essentially, this would free up server space and resources so that we could have the search feature back.
As for Avara, I'd just like to keep it around.

That's too bad, that E-zine was funny. I don't understand why Avara isn't popular, it's one of my favorite games.

Bleh! Popularity sucks. Case in point: the Nova board used to be fun to go to before Nova got some much popularity. Now its full of stupid newbies who Ambrosia will obviously put up with because those newbies will be paying them money in the future.

And those newbies will be bringing in the money needed to pay for these servers, software, and ASW itself to keep running. Be thankful for them.

Hmm, good point. They're still annoying though.
Yes, I agree, but there's a lot of stuff to learn. I've never understood why we all get so annoyed about questions from people. It makes next to no sense to me, but even I do it. So, in the spirit of humanity, I shall continue.
Of course, when Nova comes out, I'll be thankful if they all register their game and visit here for help and get ASW some money.

Bleh, I only hope ASW makes enough money to keep the tracker running.
Five (5) issues of Avarazine, an Avara e-zine similar to U.V.A.R.A., are still available for download at ftp://ftp.avara.org/avarazine.sit.
As far as U.V.A.R.A. is concerned, I think I still have the old copies somewhere... If anyone is interested, I might try to find and upload them to ftp.avara.org as well.
