All right, I'll bite:
What do you wish you could do, but can't? (Due to lack of knowledge)
How to toy with parallax backgrounds some more. When they don't look right (which is most of the time), it messes up the whole aura of the level.
Why do you make levels?
a) Because I like being in the competitive race to find something new that hasn't been done yet. Because of the outpouring of support for my levels from the people on this board.
What are your opinions on dificulty? Do you side with the OBW and Dr.Tall belief or spamguy's logic?
Must I provide an answer to that question?
Any comments on what makes a beautiful level?
a) It must not be busy anywhere, at any point. Too many sprites confuses things and, if each sprite makes just one sound effect, creates a terrible chaos of noise too. Use/abuse BG tiles. c) Flat is boring.
Any comments on what makes a fun level?
Someone will have to tell me that. I can't answer it by myself and answer truthfully.
------------------ Greetings - I am your friendly neighborhood moderator. Over the coming years I shall force-feed you my biased one-sided liberal tripe that I find truthful based upon my own faulty and fragmented logic; excessive smileys and bizarre TexT! formatting also help clarify my inane points. Welcome to the boards!

Can I ask one more time, what does that question even mean? Since when did I side with OBW anyway?

Anyone who has ever said, "There should be an evil grin smiley." They are in that category. I have heard (read) you talk about your levels in the same devilish manner in which the OBW people do. Do you guys really hate the player? If you look at Ben's levels you will never see any need for evil grins. The extreme difficulty is scattered around lightly. There are only a few areas that I remember repeating over and over and over again; If you can stand the heat, Out of the frying pan, Iceconoclasm, and the Labryinth- but that one was a different kind of repeation. That is what I mean Dr. Tall. But let me rephrase that question... Do you wish to punish the player for past sins, or challenge the player, pushing them just to, but not past, the edge?
I think the evilness should be used sparingly. I use it occasionaly, but mostly for secrets. Secrets can be plenty evil- except for random-firing-at-random-walls secrets.

Here is the deal (I believe) with the Mist Potion and Vorpal Dirk. The Mist Potion: It kinda works. In my tests you could not move upwards meaning- you eventually float off the screen and- die.
The Vorpal Dirk: It replaces the Dagger. As soon as you pick it up the Dagger disapears It does work as a more powerful dagger with Ice Pick capabilites. It could break regular Crunch tiles. I will test more to find out wheter or not it can break ice pick crunch tiles. Although it appears to work the same as an ice pick, I do not believe it is as powerful.
I will run more tests now with different breakable blocks, the ice pick, the vorpal dirk , and the dagger. Comparing their abilities and power.
Additional research shows this: To kill a Goblin: The Dagger: 4+ hits The Vorpal Dirk: 3 hits The Ice Pick: 2 hits
To break through breakable walls: The Dagger: no The Vorpal Dirk: only normal walls: (0), (1), and (3) The Ice Pick: all walls, including ice walls: (0), (1), (3), and (4)
The Vorpal Dirk was meant as a replacement to the Dagger. While slightly more powerful then the Dagger, it becomes obsolete when the player get's the Ice Pick. My guess is this: Ben created the Vorpal Dirk before the Ice Pick. After creating the Ice Pick he deceided it was no longer nessacary.
Spamguy- I believe the F.A.Q.'s page needs updating now.

I had the mist potion in a couple of my levels; it worked perfectly. Just pretend you're in water and use the option key to swim upwards. If you touch your original body, you return to the normal state. I don't remember if you can get hurt though. The best part of it is that when you use it, Ferazel slumps. It's an interesting way to slump; it was funny first time I saw it.
I was playing BN when I realized that spamguy's rotating swords rotated 360 degrees. I checked in MASCOT and this is how you do it:
(3) = 1
And all this time mine had been disappearing when they reached the horizion. Time to fix that.
Also, about the Mist Potion. I thought I tried swimming but it was a long time ago, so I forget.

Nice to see you back Zelda. Your special touch (those little zingers) has been missed! (Hope you had a good vacation.)

A lot has happend while you were away. Two of the greatest worlds were released Basic Nothingness 0.4 and Extemporaneous 0.5. And... well not much else happend. But still it has been a exciting few days.
Here is a new topic to discuss: Plot!
I think there are really three types of plotlines:
1.) A large plot which extends throughout all the levels (OBW, Andrew's World)
2.) Mini-Plots contained with-in each few levels. Vague larger plot. (Extemporaneous)
3.) Zippo. Nil. Nadda. Zilch. (???????)
Am I missing any? Which do you prefer? Which do you create? Describe some of your favorite plot schemes that you have created.

Yep, it's been a regular party house. The police have been called over, it's so rowdy.
I didn't even realize you were away...aren't I the attentive mod? I thought you were still around because I found you on #ev3 once (Zelda == Lucy there, right?).

Sign Dr Tall Land up for the sub-plots with vague interconection ---------------- Spamguy (regarding the sword thing), Wow, I did not know that. I knew that swords had info settings but I never stopped to figure them out. (Goes off to update all of Dr Tall Land's rotating swords)

Well..I've been back for a few days now!
Despite the fact that nobody's noticed me leaving or coming back, I still know I'm loved here. Brings a tear to my eye...oh wait, that's because someone's poking it.
And yes, Monsterlady..I had a great vacation. Thanks!

When I was testing the Mist Ptn it worked perfectly.
No, wait. It didn't. If I tried spin jumping when in "mist mode", then I couldn't move up anymore. Annoying.

What are you talking about? No one loves you he---....uh oh....I didn't mean to say that.....Spamguy, does this mean you're going to stop paying me?
Shut up and assemble those imitation Timexes, mortal...our agreed pay coems after the daily beating.
Sorry master! I shall return to the Timexes at once!
I still don't know why we don't make Rolexes....OW that hurt!

Dr Tall Land starts off easy which lures players into a false sense of security (evil smiley) but then increases in difficulty slowly until it rises sharply in the desert Realm. (evil smiley) If you can find the secret enterance* to Xichra's lair you can actually take a 3 level cake walk...a few enemies, a few Xichrons...just a key trading game. Of course the fourth level on the path...ummm...not a cake walk. (evil smiley)
*But I guess it's not really a secret enterance because you have to climb the mountain anyway...its just if you want to trade in your Red Xichrons for cash and prizes. And I mean good prizes too....see I can be nice!
