Avara and Open Source?

I have a question for anyone out there. Do you think that Avara will ever become Open Source? Since Ambrosia has said that it will not support other platforms, incuding MacOS X for Avara, I wonder if they would be willing to let someone else do it? Also I think it would be really awesome if we could get OpenGL support for Avara! Maybe we should start a campaign or something to try to get it open sourced. But maybe I'm the only one that feels this way.

Doubt it, but it's entirely up to ASW.

That contains a few posts worth of discussion about it, not much but it's all I could find on short notice.

if you expand your setting to read all of the posts in here, you would find other discussions on the subject.

Suffice it to say it will not be released unless a competent, mature programmer is found, willing to tackle it, and has a proven track record. Even then, it's still up to ASW as forge stated.

So- the answer to your question is NO. And, no, the campaign to try to get it open sourced has been started, and stopped, and talked about to death.

Frankly, it's too old at this point to build on. Start anew if you inspire to create a better game.

Closing Thread.

I'm sorry - I can't argue with you. I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.
