Avara X

I'm making an Avara mod. Avara X! The HECTORs have no legs because antigravity technology has been perfected. There will be new HECTORs, and maybe there will be an energy problem or something like in Aftershock...

That would be really cool! Best of luck!

Heh! Thanks, I think I'll need it. 🙂

hmmm... this isn't quite related to Avara X, but it set me thinking. Should Ambrosia port (or whatever) avara to OSX? From what I understand most, if not all, new computers will be shipping with OSX, and from what I've heard Avara runs rather slowly on OSX.

I just tried Avara in Classic under OS X, and it ran at the same speed it always has under OS 9.1. The only trouble I had was the controls to move the head around ( mouselook) were hyper-sensitive - to the point it was unplayable. However, I use an IntelliMouse Optical, and have set the control panel to make the cursor action a bit higher than normal - so that may have caused it.

I'm sorry - I can't argue with you. I refuse to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

I too have OS X and have tried Avara under Classic. With the plain old hockeypuck mouse with mouse speed set to the slowest possible, it is barely playable. I have asked Andrew if Ambrosia has plans for updating and he replied "Ask Juri"

Actually, most of the time andrew seems to suggests nothing will be ported to OS X. As he says, Ambrosia would rather bring forth newer and better games, then spend their time porting old ones to work.

Well peoples, here I am again. I've taken off the legs, made the walking sound be invisible, sound wise, and made a new scout pict. I am having trouble making new HECTORs, when I do it, the walls explode with the slightest blast, but I'm sure I'll get there. 🙂 Just keeping you informed.

You can blow up the walls? Sweet!
