Have you ever looked at a level file with resedit? To make a level playable you have to make a level file with resedit and make a LEDI Resource, where you type in level name and such. Then you have to Write a ref to the pict file in the same folder of the file. Or paste the pict file into the level file.
If you open a ordinary level file with ResEdit you will understand.
And..... if you have learnt to make avara levels... why haven't you learnt to make level files?

It's not very complicated when you look at other Res documents. Also, it should be in the Avara Level Editing guide somewhere.

You'll have to steal a TMPL out of either the application or another level file in order to access LEDI resources. Create a new file and paste the TMPL into it. Then paste your level into a PICT resource in your new level file, then set a LEDI to something like:

Tag: ---- (any four characters), Name: ___ (level name), Message: ___ (level description), Path: ___ (fill in with the name you give in Get Info on the pasted PICT), Enables reqd: 0 (assuming you don't want the level hidden until others are completed), File: false, Reserved: $00000000, Enables: 0

You'll also have to set your new file to type: AVAL. Setting it to creater: AVAR is a good idea but not essential. Oh, and be sure in the LEDI file that you give it a set tag of four characters. Do all that and it should work. By the way, PICT spot #129 has a special function and shouldn't be used.

Hmmmm...

I once made an Avara level with AppleWorks5, but I had to use Resorcorer to actually make it. You see, first, duplicate any Avara level, and then, get you level which you made with ClarisWorks and copy it, and then use Res-Edit or Resorcorer to paste it on the level PICT. I don't remember all of it. Thats the most help I can give you.
