Why are all the topics being closed all of a sudden?

I don't know -- I reopened some of them that seemed to be closed for no particular reason.

I didn't close all of the topics here, but the ones I thought had run their useful course I closed. Especially the one you (andrew) moved here and said you were going to close.

Ahh- my mistake. I didn't see that topics moved from one board remain there. The topic was closed by andrew on the other board, but shall remain open here if any meaningful thoughts are added. After a while it'll be closed.

Or, as a suggustion from a fellow moderator, you could keep it open so people that visit a few months from now can add on...
I meant I was going to close it on the old web board (Ambrosia Banter) because it was more appropriate to have the thread here.

The problem being in past discussions, this turned into a diatribe, with most having very specious arguements. I'm more of the opinion once a discussion has run it's course and has dwindled into less-than on topic chatter, it should be closed.
People who read it months later are free to start the discussion again by starting a new topic if some of the circumstances surrounding the discussion have significantly changed.
Course, that's just my take.
