Okay i was playing this guy once and i was heaps far away, lining up a hat, and he jumps,and i see all these grenades then..... a light...
It beats me how to do this.

It just takes practice. Just like in the real world, if you throw something while moving, it retains your velocity in addition to the new acceleration that you gave it. So, if you jump up and fire a grenade while you're still moving upwards, it will get additional upward velocity and go farther. Just practice it in a level by yourself. Long-range grenade possibilities are limited, but can be useful if you like guerrilla tactics.
