What is the ID# of the background for the Desert levels?
In my levels, when I try to work at the bottom of the screen in MASCOT it looks like I have it all covered but while playing it there is a whole section missing at the bottom. How do I fix this?
When I beat the first level and I know I have it connected to the next, on the map it doesn't take me to the next level

The ID of desert BG is 313.
When scrolling in mascot, use the mouse, not the keys. There is a bug where scrolling with the keys sometimes doesn't scroll all the way,
As for nodes, I'm not the person to ask Dr. tall or LizWiz can probabally help you though.

Thanks cat, a couple more:
What are the ID's for the ice levels, fire levels, and forest levels and differnet ones for the Caverns?
The liquid tiles are't liquid. They are just there and don't act as liquid, what do I do?
In the caverns tiles I can't find mine cart track. They aren't there! How do I get these?

Look, you don't have to keep on asking people. You can view them for yourself with ResEdit. You can download ResEdit here.
1. Open ResEdit.
2. From the File menu, click "Open".
4. Now, within ResEdit, open the file called "Ferazel's Wand Backgrounds".
5. You will see a lot of icons called "resources". Double-click on the one that is called "PICT".
6. There, you can view all the backgrounds and see what ID's they have!
**The liquid tiles are't liquid. They are just there and don't act as liquid, what do I do?
In MASCOT, there is a menu called "Tiles". In the tiles menu, go to the thing called "Define BG tiles...". Now you'll see the BG tiles to the right, and numbers to the left. in the square that has water, type in "200". That's the ID for water. Acid is 201, lava is 202, and well, just test is out.
**In the caverns tiles I can't find mine cart track. They aren't there! How do I get these?
Open the file called "Ferazel's Wand Backgrounds" in ResEdit again. You'll see that the mine cart track one is "240"
I hope that helped you!

Err! I think you got that the wrong way round Cat, You need to use the key pad numbers (2, 4, 6 & 'cause the mouse can't get to the edge.

If you go to (url="http://"http://www.enfield-uk.co.uk")Cybergran's web page(/url) she has a link to my look-up table for level info which includes all Ben's levels. There's also a guide to nodes there, and a guide to conversations.

Look Overrider, all these questions that you've asked and more are in the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number;=59&SUBMIT;=Go")MASCOT FAQ!(/url) This is how we know all this stuff!
Also, try playing around in ResEdit (HAVE a Back-up first!) and you'll find out a lot of your graphical questions. And there are a few good guides out there to helps as well. And let us not forget about that great place to share questions and info, the Creator's Corner, a old nigh-dead topic created by that dashing fellow, Emperor Ent. Thanks, it's been a real pleasure.
Fixed the liquid problem, although it's acid now............
Ice: Sheesh, Ok
Originally posted by Overrider720: **Thanks, it's been a real pleasure.
Hmmmmm.... It shouldn't. Acid is 201 and Water is 200.
**Ice: Sheesh, Ok
Sorry, it's just that it has so much info. there, and you didn't even bother to look at it.

So what harm does asking do? Otherwise to get the answers you have to trawl through all the questions for the last who knows how long, and the Mascot FAQ is quite difficult to understand at times.

What is up with my map nodes? I've done everything you told me to do, I read through the FAQ's, I looked at Jodeos info topic and followed the instructions and it won't work :frown:

It may be the exit sprite info is wrong, that's quite a common problem. Send them to me if you like and I'll see if I can see what's happening.

Ok, i'll get it out to you
How can the exit sprite be wrong?
Originally posted by Overrider720: **How can the exit sprite be wrong?
The number in info (0) of the exit sprite should correspond with the position of the level number in the node edit, as Follows:
Edit Node #2
Level number 2
Links to node/#kind 1 0 if you want to go to this level put 0 in info (0) of the Level exit edit info. 3 0 if you want to go to this level put 1 in info (0) of the Level exit edit info. 4 0 if you want to go to this level put 2 in info (0) of the Level exit edit info. 8 0 if you want to go to this level put 3 in info (0) of the Level exit edit info.
Node kind 0 Valid 1
If you want to return to the previous level put "-1" in info (0) of the Level exit edit info.
