Conversations

I've been doing a bit of beta testing just recently - for various people and have found out something which might be of use to everyone. The IDs of conversation do actually matter to some extent.

When conversing with people there doesn't seem to be a problem what number you use, but when using conversations with say a book, grave, or other inanimate object you can't use number under 100 because most of the time they will not work.

There are two rules for ultimate success in life. (1) Never tell everything you know.

That's some wacky wild stuff! I will have to check out Extemporaneous to see what may graves are.

I found something like this a long time ago, I don't really recall exactly but I think numbers under 200 were buggy with some type of speakable item. I just use 200+ for everything......well almost everything, I think the lowest Dr Tall Land convo is around 196.

For plaques, I always copied the ones from the original game and pasted them in mine with ResEdit. I then edited them with MASCOT. Their IDs were in the 5000 range.
