Extemporaneous Progress Log

I just made a lot of changes. I added a mercant at Fameuse, you can give you advice and a beautiful necklace. Question: About how much money do you have at the beginning of Famuese? More than 200? I think all the conversations are working now, and all the devious traps in Queen Mab. I will give it a test run today, and post the updated version tonight. I will send an e-mail noticiation when I do. Happy Mother's Day!

Sorry, the network's been down for a looooong time. I have ViaVoice, and it doesn't translate the words you speak exactly. I found a letter i 'wrote' to my friend with ViaVoice and posted a part I thought was funny. You can see it doesn't translate exact words in my sig. (edit)Also, I found the e-mail. Extemporaneous is really cool!! Just the bugs mentioned above I have found. When's the next beta due out?(/edit)

Okay, sorry about the delay. My DSL has been down for a while. I thought Fameuse was pleasantly challenging, but the water should hurt (like ice water). I found the purple pool (which made it easier) but the mist potion should have some purpose instead of just being a random bonus. Besides that, it was great! (am I a beta tester??)

Ran through the revised version. Here's a quick summary:

Bugs seem to be fixed. Had problem with one conversation but couldn't get it to happen again, so maybe it was something with my system.

MMT - got through to the Red Xichron & Shield okay - there is still a gap to fall through, but easily leapt over. My magic potions didn't disappear, but I still don't trust George Harrison.

Fameuse much easier to do with the fixed platforms.

I had enough coins to buy the beautiful necklace from the merchant.

No problems with the quicksand. The button stayed down. New transport door very helpful, although initially confusing when trying out the other end on the way through.

Rocks were falling everywhere in Queen Mab's. Yikes! Those hurt!

Problems: Magic potion in George Harrison's house cannot be got - is below the table. One Xichron in MMT cannot be gotten (right near the first save point). Can't think of anything else right now, but will post more if found.

Great levels. Carry on!

I will fix those minor errors. Is the snow not solid? What are the tiles that are not worked?

Glad to see you are enjoying it. Any suggestions to make it more fun?
How many necklaces did you have at the end, you should be able to get 3, from various places.

Anyone else find other bugs?

I will fix those then begin work on "The Gaulnet."

Thanks Again!

I was able to get a total of 3 necklaces. One got used up in Fameuse.

There is also a cloud in Queen Mab's (just before you get into the actual area), which doesn't do anything. Is it supposed to move? (seems to be caught in the rock). The other one goes up and down okay.

MonsterLady: Which platform is not working? The one which leds to Mab, or the one which leds to the exit?

Progress Log:
•Gaunlet: Concept Map inputed into computer (50%)
----Release Extemporaneous 0.4 ETA: Jun 1st----

•Halls of Crapulence: Concept Map done (20%)
•Illusion of Reality: Concept Map done (25%)
•Tower of Perplexity: Concept Map done (20%)
----Release Extemporaneous 0.5 ETA: July----

•End Game: General Vague Idea In My Head (1%)
----Ferazel's Wand: Extemporaneous ETA: August-September----

That will conclude Extemporaneous.

Eventually, after Extemporaneous, I will begin working on another world, Ferazel's Wand: A Swashbuckler's Tale (Title Tenative) It will be a three level set with new tiles. The levels will be something like:
•Bar+Docks
•Ship
•Island
----Demo ETA: Christmas----

Keep in mind, all these dates and titles are tenative. I will try to keep my self made deadlines, but I am not making any promises. All times may be altered, depending on when EV3 is released. 🙂

BETA Testers (including you COZMO, sorry I forgot you in the mailing) : Expect to see Extemoraneous 0.42 by next week. Have a nice week.

The one that leads to Queen Mab. It is stuck in the rocks down where you come in.

Also: Are there supposed to be conversations with the guards? A conversation box came up, but it was just garbage across the bottom - had to esc to continue. Happened with both guards. Conversation with Mab is okay.

Okay, there is a place to fall through in MMT (Near Fameuse, end of level). Haven't chacked Mab but Fameuse is toooooo easy! The demons are also in the rock and air (too far left). Oh well, back too testing!

Huh? What 'secret room of your father'?

There is a secret room in the first level. That was a subtle clue from the dying eldar. Did anyone find this secret legitly? Should I make it easier?

I just inputed The Gaunlet into MASCOT, it needs a lot of work. A that exact moment I had a great level idea, a level before Queen Mab, but after MMT. Meet Russian Habnabit's in a forset level/ fire level. I think it will be very enjoyable. Any general tips for the standard of level making? How is the difficulty? Compared to orginal levels?

Well, I will get back to the Gaunlet. That is going to be a lot of work, I may push back the beta date.

I just played through your first level again with new beta. I still don't get it. 🙂

I will make this easier by next release. Has anyone found it? What should I do to make it easier? I still want it to be a tough secret, though. What if I added this to the sign:

"Heed your eldar's advice. Treasure awaits those who rememeber."

Would that help?

It doesn't help me!! Mail me the solution...I'll better be able to address it if I know it.

Sorry, haven't been on, massive report, to put it short. Do you mean the one after the exit when you jump before the sign, "Have faith."? If not, I have no clue, and I'll look in MASCOT. 😄 Won't be able to play or anything till Saturday since school's out (yay :)) Thursday, field day Friday.

I'd gotten 100% everything on the first level, so didn't know if I'd missed something. Would I not get 100% if I didn't find the secret room? (Once I get 100% I assume I've found everything and stop looking!)

The secret room is a secret. It is found after the sign, "Have Faith." Don't worry though, the next beta will make it slightly easier.
