Which is better?

I'm surprised that no one has played my scenario. Will someone who has support me in these dark times of unreason?

A really good level to practice this is While the Iron is Hot, you can use one cruiser to fight the Carrier, the Gatori are horrible though so it's not as challenging as it could be.

Results of my testing:
Testers: Patrick, Steel Firebird(aka Taylor)
Results:

Match One
Patrick- Schooner
Steel Firebird- Cruiser
Results: A draw. Both of us ran out of energy and ammo.

Match Two
Patrick- Crusier
Steel Firebird- Schooner
Results:Crusier destroys Schooner when Firebird stops and begins spinning around in a circle. SF stated that he lost on purpose. I believe that I would have beat him anyways(he had just been blinking on 1:16 ~15 seconds before his destruction)

Conclusion:
More testing is needed, due to experimental errors and the small amount of sample battles.

Notes: CA, you need to fix the Escort vs Gunship level, it has Ish gunships instead of Sal or Human ones like it's supposed to.

No, I put it so the player with the gunship could choose between Salrilian, audemedon, Human and Ishiman races.

I think that, in both cases, it'd be entirely up to luck and skill.

Gunship vs Escort:
If it were a human gunship, it would constantly tag the escort with its turret, plus doing nice amounts of damage when it got the escort in front of it. The escort would be doing plenty of damage most of the time, though, but the gunship is twice as tough. If it were a salrillian gunship, it'd have quite a range advantage, and its plasma gun does sick damage. However, the escort can outmaneuver it and also has nice weapons, so it'd all depend on how often the escort got in front of the gunship. Seeing as they both have cloaking, this would be entirely up to luck and skill.

Cruiser vs Schooner:
This would also be entirely up to luck and skill. The schooner has a speed of 7, and a turning rate of 3. The cruiser has a speed of 5, and a turning rate of 2. The schooner isn't exactly god-like in its ability to outmaneuver the cruiser, although it definately can. Plus, the cruiser has a stealth field, so it'd just be how good they were at fighting each other, and if it were the AI, how lucky each one got.

Plug reviews are appreciated...

I'll have to shamefacedly admit that I'm not a good tester in either scenario - it's not easy to gain an advantage through cloaking against me. However, if I get the chance, I would like to whip some player who likes the cruiser or gunship. Always remember that there's not even a 30° radius in which the fore-firing weapons can hit, out of 360 (less than 1/12, essentially). Any experience drawn from playing the AI (It's so easy to get them in front!) is void because the AI will always run away from you - right in front where the weapons can hit.

"Naturally. You could hardly claim to be an angel with those pointed ears, Mister Spock. But say you landed someplace with a pitchfork "

In the cruiser vs schooner you all forgot one important thing. The cruiser can be moving on way and pointing another. If the schooner has to run down the cruiser then it might get interesting.

So it uses hyperspace an maneuvers to where it doesn't have to chase; even without hyperspace there's no reason the Schooner has to follow right behind the cruiser.

Still the cruiser would stand a better chance.
