Just a hypothetical question.....
If there was a game which was in stalled beta and you wanted to play this game, would you rather that the game be released with possible bugs or wait until the beta finished?
Just to make sure your responses aren't skewed: The game is not EVN. The bugs could include an overall difficulty imbalance (the game is too hard or too easy) but probably do not include any fatal bugs.

I would release the "game" as public beta. The public would get to play it, and they would probably tell you about bugs and suggestions.

You are talking about Dr. Tall land, aren't you? Well, I'd say go ahead and release it, but first go through all the levels and attempt to make everything prettier. Right now Ben Spes would be ashamed at something that made Ferazel's Wand so ugly. Add BG tiles, slopes, hills, and plants. After it looks nice, release it.

Well, I say that you should always release something you are proud of. You have come so far without a public beta, don't start now. Prefect, even if it doesn't come out until christmas - it will be worth it.

Making cat's changes would take years. Ben Spees might not make something like Dr Tall Land, but that is because he didn't make Dr Tall Land.
See? Dr Tall made Dr Tall Land, and since Dr Tall made Dr Tall Land, Dr Tall decided to name his land Dr Tall Land because Dr Tall is the one who in fact created Dr Tall Land. If Ben Spees had made Dr Tall Land, it would probably be called Ben Spees Land if Dr Tall got to name it, but if Dr Tall did not make it (and thus name it Dr Tall Land) he would most likely not get to name Dr Tall Land as Ben Spees Land, and so Ben Spees would have named Ben Spees Land (Dr Tall Land named Ben Spees Land by Dr Tall assuming Dr Tall got to name the land Ben Spees created) anything Ben Spees whished since he would have been the author of Dr Tall Land named Ben Spe.......oh, no I've gone cross-eyed.
Oh and Emperor Ent, this would not be a public beta. This would be the final release unless fatal bugs are found.
