Is it possible to do it?
I'm currently drawing graphics for a game that I'm going to develop when I've learnt CS better. First, I'm wondering if it is possible to do it in Myth style. Can it be done? And how do you do it?
A bit off-topic: What game-develop tools are available for Windows (preferably free) that could do a Myst type game?
Thank you in advance!
Not sure about your windows question, but I'll try to show you how to make a myst style game in coldstone.
This is easy, if you don't want anything too complex. Let's see.. the basics. For more detailed information, see page 32 of the manual.
1. Make a main location (you can also add a main interface and it will be displayed above your main locations like a map interface).
2. Make a graphic for your main location
3. Make another main location (with graphic) that the player can travel to.
4. Open up your first main location. See the thing to the lower right? In the dropdown menu, choose your new location and drag the red box where you want the player to be able to click to be able to travel there.
5. Play your new game.
Now, you can use globals and such to change the world depending on what the player has done.
Perhaps not the best of instructions, but I think they cover the most of it.
Good luck!
Choose. Either, Myst or Myth, not both.
Thank you, Ledorax!
emaniac: Sorry, the Myth was just a typo.
