How do you make it so someone has to buy a disc and pop it in to install your game, and has to insert the disk to play your game. I was gonna sell my games, so i wanted to know how to do that, and if you cant, any suggestions?

Easy: Only distribute it on a disc. You can just stuff it/zip it, or you could be fancy and find an installer-creation program. I'd suggest my own RegCodeX (currently under development), but, as I just said, it's not done yet.

This one you can't do, as far as I know. ColdStone just isn't sophisticated enough. :

I don't think you can do that with Coldstone as they are all sent in one package. It would be easy to add this feature to Coldstone as it just requires them to make the place that Coldstone looks for the games data be customisable.
On a side note, you are aware that if you sell your game commercially you have to pay Ambrosia/Beenox a licence? Shareware and Freeware don't require licences.

Is anyone taking bets? I'm betting RegCodeX is done before the game gets to beta.

A good point, Pilky, worth re-stating from time to time.

I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a try. Compile something simple, like the medieval game. When you install it, you only get an alias, and the real program is on the CD (invisible, of course). So, then you'll have to put in the CD in order to get it to work. I think this will work, since I have an app wich does that. But that one is using a CD image. I'm not sure it'll tell you to put the CD in either, but, as I said, try it.

The problem is that most people (like me) will just drag the program off the disk. I have lots of HD space and I hate juggling CDs. That's why I've made DMGs for most of my games that needs CDs.

Invisible, so you can't just drag it away and.. yeah.
an invisible file will likely stop 98% of all players as most people have no idea a.) that a file can be invisible, b.) don't know how to make it visible... no worries there, in general this should work agains thte average user for the most part the only widely known/available public application that toggles visibility is resedit...and that's ages past.

what kind of licence payment is it, do you have to pay a monthly fee, or do you pay it in one sitting. how much? is there a place on the site where i could read everything?
I believe that you would need to contract with them on an individual basis. So, once you get your game finished to be comercially published, then contact them. I think it's negotiated.

I just downloaded a little utility for OSX which lets you change some attributes in the system's performance. Among others, it makes all the invisible files automatically visible! Available 8/24 on VersionTracker OSX. (I turned that one back off. It clutters up the windows too much.)
does it work with OS 9? also, whats it called? couldn't understand what you posted, could you reword it? thanks.
How would i negotiate? would i mail them or what. and by commercially selling it, i did kinda plan on it being a mini gaming bis. so would i need to do something more because of that? AUHHHH so many questions, MUST. RESTRAIN. MYSELF. FROM. BLOWING. UP!!! lol
Oh and could i have suggestions on any good animation programs that i would pay for, cause i now have a larger budget (read the post 'Graphics')

I know how to see invisible files without any program at all. Actually, I could probably write a program to make all files visible (at least for OS X). The problem with invisible files is that it's done differently on different systems. I don't think there ARE invisible files in OS 9, and the way it's done in OS X and on Windows is quite different. Anyway, for graphics, if you're looking for 3D I'd get Wings3D (free!) as a good low-poly count modeler. For making people, you'll need Poser (not free). Wings3D is available as a free download at (url="http://"http://www.wings3d.org")http://www.wings3d.org(/url) . Poser is available for purchase here: (url="http://"http://store.curiouslabs.com/trade/entry/105/?countryiso=US")http://store.curious.../?countryiso=US(/url)
Good luck modeling... it's hard, trust me.
well i saw a thing called blender, that looked a milion times better, but i think i need a graphics card...so does wings3D work for OS 9.0, cause i have one and its more stable (i can use mac os x, cause i have one of those too, but i mainly use the 9.0, cause its more stable.) could you give me like a short review youve seen or something on wings3D, cause i want to know more about it before i just download it and it puts a bug on my computers....
Well, I've been using Wings3D for a long time without any problems. Blender is more powerful than Wings3D (I think), but 50 times more complicated. Unfortunately, now that I've looked at them, they both appear to be for OS X (there may be an older OS 9 version, but I haven't found one). If you can use OS X, I suggest Wings3D (and no, it doesn't contain a virus, worm, or trojan).

When you install a program on OS X you shouldn't need to worry about a program that you install messing up your computer. OS X will not allow the modification of it's core without root access (not even an administrator has root access). If you are concerned about a program starting backdoor processes then just check your startup items(in your system preferences) and the process viewer (found in your utilities folder) and look for things that look out of place. So you can't 'install bugs' on your computers.

um, theres one that keeps coming back that says who its made by.... it was mathew blabla something, bug version 7.0.0....lol, i don't know why it said that

What looks like a white outline is not really white, it's a bleeding of the colors making a "softer" edge. You can eliminate this with a program such as Graphic Converter by changing the offensive pixels to pure white.
