Request for info on CS and PoG updates

I have started a topic in Ambrosia Banter asking for more info on the updates. If you feel as though you would like ambrosia to supply more info than the update is in "active development" then please reply to the thread.

I'm not trying to cause trouble, I just want to find out when and if the update will come, and I'm sure quite a few people feel the same way

Why don't you e-mail andrew instead. If he feels like responding then you'll get your answer. If he doesn't feel like responding then it won't matter where you post it, as he's the only one that can provide the answer to you.

Andrew won't reply... He never did till now...

Yet he is the only one that can. If he won't reply to your e-mail it is highly unlikely that he will reply to a board post. If then intent of the board post is to get information then it is a wasted exercise.

When information is available it will be distributed. I do not believe that ASW will update Coldstone but not tell anyone that it has been done, nor do I believe that they will drop the project completely and keep it a secret.

Silence is rough, but when no one knows it is difficult to get answers.

To take what Stark has said and put it another way . . .
If ASW is droping the project, I'm sure they will say so with sadness.
If ASW completes the project, I'm sure they will say so with joy.

In the meantime, sit in the back seat. The journey is not over yet.

The problem is that it is tarnishing Ambrosia's reputation. Several people are starting to lose confidence in Ambrosia's ability to communicate with customers.

Ambrosia is merely the publisher of these two great programs, they did not create them and cannot easily update them with fixes such as these. I am sure that they are giving us all the information that they can, I doubt if they even have a definate date on when the updates should be finished. Beenox created the programs, and Beenox is the one with the communication problems, they wouldn't fix the game right away and now we've been waiting for what seems like forever for this update.

In other words, don't blame Ambrosia, they've done all that they can do and more on this subject. Instead, blame Beenox, for not catering to a program they made and allowed ASW to distribute.

Work on GOE is still under way even with out an update. That way, when the update does come The Ghosts of Efeion will be finished and ready to go.

As ZeroWarrior said, we should work with what we have to show Ambrosia SW and more importantly Beenox that CS is worth being updated.

PS: New Updated PPP Games Online site (IT HAS SHOCKWAVE CONTENT!)

But for those of us who have panther, we can't. I want to see coldstone updated. But all the information we have is that Beenox is paying some one to update and that someone is working at ambrosia's offices. Therefore they should know. They have the source with some bugs fixed. So they have access to the information about what bugs have been fixed.

And you can't say that the people that are losing faith aren't worth having as customers. A lot of those people are more dedicated to making games in Coldstone that most of the rest. I'm putting my time and effort into writing a community site and I want to get to work on my next game AND I want to try and make some app that will make YOUR life easier. Why? Because of Coldstone.

Just reload OS 10.2. I doubt that every one that has 10.3 need to have it loaded at the moment, and it you must have OS 10.3 loaded, partition the drive so you can load both. Then just switch between the two systems.

I will be getting 10.3 soon, but I will not be loading it on the computer that CS is loaded on.

I need 10.3 for some of the apps i am using and I can't partition it because I have a 10GB HD.

Ok, so you are stuck there...

Wait, can't you run CS in classic mode?

I do recomend that you get a bigger hard drive eventualy.

Alright Pilky, I agree that what I said was rather hasty. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people claim that no information is given, when in fact, information has been given. I too can't wait for the CS update, I love the program, however, I don't blame AmbrosiaSW for not communicating to their customers. They are probably just as peeved as the rest of us that Beenox was not willing to make the update themselves, at a much earlier date. I'm sorry if I offended you, as that was not my intention. I still consider Ambrosia's announcement that the update is being actively developed important information. At least we know that the update hasn't been dropped, and that so far is will continue to be developed. I believe that when Ambrosia has news or information that is worth sharing, it will be shared.

Please remember that since CS and PoG are not products made originally by AmbrosiaSW, whoever is working on the update was given a job to fix something they had never seen before. It's like telling a software developer to go be a mechanic without any training, it will simply take time and commitment to do. Work cannot begin on this update until the person doing the updating has familiarized themselves with CS's programming and feels they know enough to fix the bugs without causing more.

Thank you, and by the way, I removed the offending lines of my other post after rereading them and deciding they were insulting. I would like to apologize to you, and to any other fans and customers of AmbrosiaSW that I offended.

Yes, people who work on the update need time... This is why it would be a huge mistake to let the contract of this person end before he/she can finish updating the program... By the way, isn't it what happened ?... Isn't it true that the person who was working on the update is not anymore part of Ambrosia ?...

I do not blame Beenox... They were smaller than Ambrosia when they made CS and now, they are far more advanced in their business... At least, the info they give on CS on their website is nearter to the truth than the announcement that is done here...

It is easy to figure that CS is now a pain in the ass for Ambrosia... A few dozens of people bought the program and Ambrosia has to send them the update for free... As for the few other dozens who claimed their interest to buy a definitive version, they obviously won't pay back the investment in the update...

Plus, finding the name of the company on some lawyers website, with description of history and activity makes me think that it is actually in a difficult position on the market and looking for investors...

But I'm sure everyrthing I say is pure fantasy and that we'll all get good news tomorrow morning... Well, let's say, next week...
