Well, it doesn't seem to be very useful to the average CGE developer. It seems to be how it works, rather than how to use it. If this was the point, then I'm sorry. It just doesn't seem to be any help.

A FAQ is a collection of frequently asked questions or more accurately answers to common misconceptions, meant to fill in the gaps in existing documentation.
As to the faQ's current contents:
no. 001 Most/all games will be inefficient to some degree, inefficiency usually effects speed, most people want to get the most out of their game's performance. So mechanically using formats without any forethought leads to lowered performance.
Why is this not explained in the faQ, if your not thinking or searching for efficiency/quality then there's no reaosn to interrupt your bliss.
no. 002 I have lost count of the number of times people on this board continually mistake the EDITOR for the ENGINE, there's something about that, that screams average. This question has existed for since CGE was made, and i have answered said question more than 8 times in detail.
You can't use something to its full potential until you understand how it works, CGE is reentering the development cycle, threads such as 'coldstone resolution' are full of misconceptions. The last segment of 002 is to give thought to people who want new features, are submitting bug reports, or might be scapegoating irrelevant things exposing their ignorance.
The faQ is going to grow..expand, it is structured as such, its much better that it grow reactively rather than i sit and waste all manner of time trying to comprehensively list every minor detail of the engine.
It is not inherently a documentation project, however the next entry to the faQ is 'building a baarebones game'.
Ah, now I get it. The problem was, I was expecting it to be similar to straytoaster's faq page, with tips and tricks for doing certain things in a game.

Perhaps he is just annoyed at having to say the same things over and over again. I'd like to know if we would be able to contribute things to this FAQ. I'm sure that Ell knows more than most of us about CS but he can't know everything (or can he? )

In a community, you can't just be "cold/indelicate" because you feel like it. These are real people with emotions and feelings (not the fictional board people from mars ), and I agree with RD that being rude to them (you WERE rude, there is no escaping it...) is not acceptable. I don't know about being officially "penalized" but I do know that my personal karma count for you has dropped several points.
EDIT: To get back on topic, I can see the point of the FAQ, and it is a good idea. Tell us when you add more stuff!

Learn to ignore it, avoid it or seek to have me removed these are your essential options, i encourage you to voraciously pursue them.
