Is there any way, any way at all, to get rid of those stupid buttons that appear in the journal and the ask dialog box? They look very ugly with my game and this is not good. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance (though I can guess this should be going on whichever wishlist we are currently posting to, which, of course, won't be seen by Beenox).

You can always draw new ones anyway you want them to be..... If you don't mind NOT adding the buttons you don't like.

How do you do that?

There is no way to change the appearance of those grey buttons.
However, there are workarounds. For example, in one of my games I din't want the spell casting window to have a button that says: Cast
I just moved the location of the grey button off the form, and all you need to do to cast the spell is double-click on it's name. For the ask entry dialogue, I believe the return key will work.

But then you MUST cast a spell when you are in the spell casting window, dont you? Maybe the player dont have enough points to cast, then they are stuck...

It seems we have two camps here. One says, "Sure, ya can redraw 'em however ya want." The other says, "No, impossible."
By the inflexible nature of CS I'm inclined to agree with the second, however, if anyone can enlighten me further on a way to do this it would be greatly appreciated (cause some of the buttons are necessary to the game and the uglyness shocks me).
greay buttons, cannot be changed or overridden or covered up.
button fields/zones such as log or like the mapinterface buttons, can always have a covering, which is purely aesthetic

... bwahhaaaaahaaaaaugh fooooolish sammurai.
Sorry to mis-understand. I thought you were talking about the window contents. Not the specific button. I made a mistake. Sorry! :frown:
It's ok. I would have been happier if you were right
Or they can press the escape button.
my game developing ha´s'nt yet led me to such an advanced window (yeah, i'm doing graphics) but, could't you work around it someway with enough events?
