Can a player cast a spell whilst walking? I ask this because I have found a certain set of sprites, and one set has the player shooting whilst walking, and it would look strange if the player was walking in place.

Maybe if you use a keydown event to cast the spell, I have not tested that:-o

If you set the spell to a keydown and do not include a spell casting animation in the hero's animation, you cast a spell without missing a step. Among the many problems with this are the fact that you can only use spells that attack all enemies or self. However, it makes a good secondary ranged guided missile attack if you aren't using spells in your game, or a quick heal button, or other things...
