I thought as much. The tazer is too short for a ship with that acceleration/manuverability. The Aud carrier accelerates/turns like an asteroid (all carriers do), and thus can't close enough to use its beam and can't aim its missles as well as a sal carrier with INSANE beam range and a turreted missle.
However, I wonder if we used multiple carriers (2 sal vs 2 aud, 3 vs 3, etc.) if the auds might have a chance through probability and dumb luck.

Now, try this: 2 Carriers, 2 HVD's. The HVD's will go up close to the carriers.... maybe the Audemedons will win. If I included cruisers and Gunships that would definitely tip the balance in favor of Audemedons, but the HVDs are about equal.
