I'm facing a rather serious decision about what to do in the conclusion of TS: Insidae, my chron series. I need to know which character in it is preferred by the (Rather small) audience, and since my poll in the end of part 3 brought just one vote (For Amy, the android character), I believe it may have been too hard for people to actually post something or email me. So, just to make it simple, I've gotten one of those free online polls. It only takes two clicks, you can do it.
Please give me something I can't get from anyone else - your opinion. (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum49/HTML/000072.html")http://www.ambrosias...TML/000072.html(/url)
The poll is right at the bottom of the story, near my previous desperate plea for input.

Where do you want to (url="http://"http://www.macclassics.com/cythera/tricks/rJade.htm")teleport(/url) today?
My opinion is that with all the writing you have, there is not enough flesh on the bones of the characters for me to tell you which I like best. Actions take place, but I don't have a sense of getting into their heads enough to know their strengths and weaknesses. Your captain seems to lack the leadership qualities which should have been there for him to get the job as captain. Who's the leader? Who's going to solve this seemingly impossible situation? That has to come from you rather than a poll of readers without enough facts on which to base a decision. ~RD

Have you been everywhere?

Unfortunately, I was trying to capture readers quickly with action initially, so character development has fallen by the wayside somewhat in the first episode. Don't worry though, I'll be sure to include plenty after the climax. In fact, I have already tried to slip some in in the next part before the crisis is resolved, so things should be improving in that regard. I really hope you have some sympathy in this issue, because there are not many places where a long bout of introspection would seem right in the story at the point it currently is. (Conclusion of part 3, not what I have written for part 4.)
The captain - Marcus - wasn't really ready for the job. He inherited it when his father died, which I think I mentioned in the intro. (Maybe not.) So, he isn't really the ideal captain, but he'll learn. (Sooner or later.) He may be a little overshadowed at first by his first officer (Amara), who is a take-charge person with some leadership qualities.
And I'm not taking the poll to determine who should save the day - that's already been decided, just not published yet. I'm simply looking to find out what characters people like, so I know who I can kill off if I need some quick drama down the road
Thank you, though, for taking the time to read the story, even if it is a little character-development shallow at the present. I hope you'll keep with it.
I've taken your advice, and the next episode - not Part 4 of Insidae (The conclusion, which I have submitted recently) - is already along and I am including more character development. If anyone calls it boring, I'm holding you responsible
