CGE Doc Website up and running

The CGE Doc website is up and running for anyone who wants to check it out. The address is (url="http://"http://cge.beckism.com")http://cge.beckism.com(/url) . Right now I will be working on combing through the forums to gather the initial basis of information that I need for the CGE Doc, but I also welcome comments, requests (although they may not be practical just immediately) and of course submissions of knowledge. For more information on this, please visit the website.

Looks good...

Now we just need to get some info up there... 🙂

Btw, run over to the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/coldstone/weblinks.html")weblinks(/url) page and add a link to your page under the Coldstone info/help sites. I realize there isn't much there yet, but that could help to drive traffic to the site and net you some additional information/requests for info.

Should we present our submissions as if we are talking to beginners or could we state a general idea that advanced CS users can use and act on without step-by-step instructions?

Thanks for the suggestion to post the address on the weblinks page, Stark. That was a good idea. I'm working on getting actual info up, but it will probably be another week before I am able to devote as much time as I'd like to the project.

Chaos:That's a good question. I hadn't thought about that. I'm trying to compile a reference manual, not a step-by-step tutorial for beginners. Basically you should go off the assumption that the people reading it have already read the included Coldstone manual and have handled the basic skills. Step-by-step instructions should not be necessary in most cases. The only real exception would be if you are describing a fairly in-depth manipulation of the basic skills that would need explanation to make any sense. Of course, if you want to provide an in-depth tutorial on something that is not too difficult but would likely not occur to people just out of the info in the Coldstone manual, feel free.

My test for submissions will pretty much be, "Do I understand this?" If not, then I will either experiment on my own in order to insert the steps that I think are needed, or contact the person who submitted it for clarification.

That being said, the bottom line is that I will put just about anything in it; I will likely implement a "difficulty level" scale of some sort when I've gathered a bit more information to give people an idea of how much they should know.

I don't think I answered your question. I'll try here: basic ideas are fine, as long as they aren't completely untested (since I will add almost all of the stuff into the Doc without testing it myself).

Okay, I think I've covered all my bases.

Over and out.
