In Regards to the Fabled Coldstone Update

I thought everyone might like to know this, especially since it isn't really "confidential" information.

It appears that the reason there has been no previous progress on the Coldstone 1.0.2 update is because — according to a member of Ambrosia Software who might as well remain un-named for now as I'm not sure how he'd feel about this otherwise — there were "legal issues" which prevented Beenox from working on Coldstone until a little while ago. That much is pure fact.

Here are some opinions: I noticed on several different sites that Beenox appeared to be developing the Macintosh port of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 in tandem with Aspyr Media (I believe they were also working on some other porting project, although I can't find anything to back up those dim "memories"). I think that might be the legal issues which prevented Beenox from throwing much of their team into updating Coldstone. Luckily for all of us, Pro Skater 3 has been released, and we might see better progress in the future.

We have been assured by Beenox that this will be addressed very shortly. It has been an outstanding issue for far too long, but prior legal commitments kept them from working on Coldstone.

I can notify you as soon as I have any news.

In response to this, my problem:

I was using Coldstone (vers. 1.0.1) and had completed it 100%, testing it along the way with little to no problems, and when I made a beta version, and gave it to my beta testers, disaster struck. All of them gave the same report: during boot, a window popped up saying "This game has been developed with an unregistered version of Coldstone. Distribution is prohibited. Do you want to register Coldstone now?" This is not true. I did indeed register my version of Coldstone. What is wrong? I have heard there are other cases of the same problem. I deleted my License and prefs file, to no avail. The only other suggested solution is completely redoing my game. I really don't wish to do this after spending so much time and work to end up with this. I end my email on one word. Ugh.
