map editor

I am trying to use the Coldstone editor and have for almost a week now. I get stuck on page 11 of the tutorial. For some reason, my map editor will not work nor will it allow me to pull up the tutorial maps. Is there something i am doing wrong? I have gone through this many times a day and i get the same results while following the instructions exactly.
I am using coldstone 1.0 which I finally found the upgrade to it today (1.0.1) and it still will not work when I deleted the old game i was working on and started over in 1.0.1.
This has been very frustrating. I called tech support while he was very nice, he said he would e-mail me something that might fix it yesterday and nothing. Can someone please help me with this problem?

Mr. Spurstrap,

Can you give us a little more information? What are you trying to do in the map editor? You state that it won't work. Does it boot up? What doesn't work, ie, what are you trying to do?

Also, what OS are you using? If you are using OS X then you might try to do the same thing in classic mode. There have been quite a few complaints with the X editor.

In the Coldstone tutorial, it says on page 10, "Open Boberus City map by double clicking on it's name in the game browser." I did that. then it says after the picture "You should now have "Boberus City" map in front of you" I don't have the map showing up.
Then it goes on " First, look at the different mode buttons to the left" I have no mode buttons at all.
I have looked in the preferences, and even gone into the data file that i created at the start of the tutorial I have Boberus map icon in the map file but it will only open up a blank tile set.

The tutorial is...cute, to say the least personally i find the medieval game(alter,dismantle,rebuild,destroy it you'll learn much more) and the user manual more useful than the tutorial which by the way has very short instructions almost implying that you should have opened and read the user manual first

what could have happened is that the boberus city map could be corrupted or your coldstone could be messed up. But ellrx is right, just make the medeival map and mess with it, read the users manual, and forget the tutorial.
