When testing my built exe on windows 2000, I get the following error message:
"The ordinal 11 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSOUND.dill."
Also, I keep getting the not registered messages popping up on the mac builds. This is sooooo aggravating, hours and hours spent on creating my game only to get these errors.
Someone please tell me everything will be alright.......
Cheers, CG

Mr. Cgoran,
Check the version of directX and quicktime on the windows machine, and make sure they are current.
Please take a look at (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum48/HTML/001000.html")this(/url) thread. Dee addresses that this error is due to not having DirectX 8.0 installed on the machine, which the manual states as being a minimum requirement to run windows builds.

I have updated quicktime and direct5x. Now I get 2 new errors and a crash dialog.
1. "Cannot find the specified file :Data/Data001.dat" 2. "Unhandled exception: c0000005 At address: 6693b330"
Anyone? Anyone?????
Thanks in advance. CG

You updated direct5x to DirectX 8.0 or greater?
Did you recompile the game before testing it after upgrading? And did you verify you are running CGE 1.0.1 and not CGE 1.0?

Thank you for responding. I feel a little lost in the support area.
I built it on a Macintosh running Quicktime 6 and the latest version of Coldstone. Has anyone else reported such errors?

Your mac set-up is fine, from all appearances. Although, out of curiousity, what OS are you using? 8.x, 9.x, 10.x?
Your windows set-up is what I am concerned about. You stated you upgraded Direct5x. Did you upgrade to DirectX 8.0 or greater? The coldstone manual states that DirectX 8 is required to run windows builds of Coldstone games. If you have less than this then you will have problems.
Also, does the windows machine have the most current version of Quicktime? If not, then it will have problems.
So once again I don't think there is a problem with your mac. I believe this is a windows set-up problem; meaning if you get the windows box updated it should run the game fine.
Thanks Stark.
I have upgraded Quicktime on the windows machine to the latest version. Version 6.
I just upgraded my windows machine to direcx 8.1.
It is after the windows updates that I started getting the greater number of error massages.

You are getting greater number of errors after upgrading because the program is getting farther than it did before.
At this point I'm at a loss. You might read through (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum48/HTML/000831.html")this(/url) thread. Dee recommended to check the option to compress picture data, as there may be an image problem and by doing the compression it will put the pictures into a windows readable format.
