Any way to make it like RPG maker 2000?

I am a true blue mac guy. But my friends are all PC users.. And I have had a chance to play with RPG Maker 2000.. I love it. It is simple but very powerful. I only want a PC to use that program. But Coldstone is just too wierd. Is there anyway to make coldstone to symulate RPG Maker? Maybe some sort of Plug in or somthing.. that would be great.. I have read the ways to make it turned based but... well it is not very "easy" haha. well thanks

I have not seen RPG Maker 2000, but I can assure you, that Coldstone will not attempt to assimilate another program. Could you be more specific than just "weird?" 🙂

I'm not sure how to do turn based, but you can use RPG Maker charsets, chipsets, etc. in your game. I am using some sprites made by fans that I altered a lot in my game to make a Zelda: A Link to the Past style RPG. You just have to open up the PNG file in Photoshop or another graphics program (I prefer to use ColorIt in conjunction with Photoshop, as they both have their advantages) and double their size, because they are a bit small for coldstone. The result is a classic looking game.

You can find tons of sprites, etc. at this address:

Also, some RPG Maker sprites were uploaded to the Coldstone Add-Ons page.

Well what I mean by weird is not random battles. In RPG maker you get in random battles and have multiple charictors and spells and such. Well thanks for the tile sets. that might help.. What I really want is the random battle thing.. well thanks anywway

I personally found random battles to be rather annoying. But you cannot practically do turn-based combat or allies.
There are workarounds however. (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum48/HTML/001317.html")This topic(/url) illustrates how to do turn-based combat, while (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum48/HTML/001362.html")this one(/url) provides a major one for allies. As for random battles, if you really wanted to do it, you could set an event to a tile that had a fifty (or whatever) chance of taking the player to a battle. Anyway, these are all, except for the random battles, a bit of a workaround. Sorry, but it seems like Coldstone will not be adding new features for a while. :frown:
