I'm going to use Coldstone to make myself a resume application, which showcases all the various things I have done. For those of you who aren't particularly aware of such things, this will make it incredibly easy to market myself -- when someone wants to know what I've done, I give them a web address or a CD, and tell them to peruse it at their will. Essays, work examples, etc -- all neatly compiled in one application. Double click, and it's there.
If that isn't a good idea for an alternative way to use Coldstone, I don't know one.
Mmm, I like it like that, mmm, I like it like that.

Will it also pull up all the Coldstone games you have played and enjoyed, so your perspective employer can note your ummm interests?

Why not go one step further and make the first autobiograpy generated by Coldstone :)?

It's and Idea - but without wishing to be too much of a killjoy - wouldn't html be easier?

There are two rules for ultimate success in life. (1) Never tell everything you know.
I'd just use director. I think you could also use flash if ya don't wanna spend $1,200 on director. I'm guessing you're going to make this with a series of event links, right? Yes, that's a pretty resourceful stretch of a $50 application.
Oh yeah, I'd also like to point out that while coldstone will allow you to make a mac version, a macosx version, and a windows version one after another on the same computer, in director you must have an extra copy of director running on a different computer to compile for multiple platforms. Great idea!

There is a lot you can do with coldstone that you can't do with HTML. Not to mention that unless you have another expensive program, you'd have to code the HTML yourself which is quite a pain.
I'd say macromedia director is definately the tool you'd want to use for this. But as I also mentioned, you'd might as well just use coldstone unless you've got a mac, a PC, and a copy of director for each.

One common sense thing I would suggest is to be sensative to the audience you are sending this type of resume to. There are a lot of luddites out there, and the technology and or (percieved) hassle of going to a web site, downloading, or even inserting a CD can put people off. Unsolicited CDs find the trash immediatly. Everyone is paranoid about viruses.
I'm speaking from some degree of experience, by the way. Many of my friends (and myself to a lesser degree) are involved in either graphic design or film production. This advice is what I hear from them.
There are cases, though, where a slick presentation like what you describe will win you points. Obviously if one of the job requirements is technical savvy, that a plus. Or if the preson going through the submissions is a technophile.
Like I said, that's all common sense stuff. I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade.

Interesting idea....although if you make it a game where you exist as an NPC (i.e. so the person doing the hiring plays as a character who would meet you in the game) make sure your NPC version of yourself doesn't try to kill the player. Might send a mixed message....
